About the expert
I have spent the last 13 years in the UAE educational system, starting with secondary education and moving on to tertiary education. My first contact and attachment to technology started with a Commodore 64 (a very early and basic version of a personal computer). I was fascinated by the fact that I could save data using a tape recorder. This interest and fascination led me to explore the empowering experience of ICT and share this with as many people as I could. Being an educator certainly helped.
I organised the first UAE contest for e-content and this encouraged the development of e-Content.
I think my main responsibility now lies in highlighting the importance of e-Content in areas like health, education, government, business, and so on.
Awareness of e-Content could also be raised by organising events that showcase and promote e-Content’s best practices. For example, holding a national contest, organising e-Content conferences and road shows, and last but not the least, introducing e-Content in the IT curriculum if possible.
